This week, Google announced two security updates for Google Workspace (G Suite), as well as some shiny new features for Sheets! Read on to learn more.

Advanced Protection Program for Enterprise beta

This program offers a bundle of the most comprehensive security controls for Enterprise admins, protecting users, especially those who regularly handle sensitive information.

Admins can activate the Advanced Protection Program by following: Admin console > Security > Advanced Protection Program and select “Enrollment is enabled.” Then, end users may enroll by following this link: g.co/advancedprotection.

Anomaly detection for admins in beta

The new beta anomaly detection feature notifies admins of unusual user behavior on Google Drive to protect from data risks.

Interested admins can complete this form to enroll.

New features for Google Sheets

  • Slicers allow Sheets users to easily filter data using specified values.

  • Scorecard charts draw attention to key metrics, especially with regard to change over time.

  • Themes offer an easy way to alter your spreadsheet’s formatting and create a cohesive visual.
