G Suite Data Migration
Migrating to a new technical environment can be complicated, even if you have IT or Cloud experience. At HiView Solutions, we will help you focus on some important elements to ensure a smooth transition. However, before diving into any data migration project, it is important to answer some basic questions to decide which tools and strategies are best:
What is the size of your organization?
Would you like to migrate using a "cutover" or “long-term/short-term coexistence” approach?
Which specific data will you be migrating (Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Documents)?
These answers will provide us with an idea of the tools and scope of support necessary to help you migrate the data. Here is an overview of the data migration process.
G Suite Data Migration Tools
We will help you migrate your data using the most secure tool depending on your current server environment.
For organizations looking to migrate email, contacts, and calendar from an Exchange environment, Google offers the Data Migration Service, which allows to easily migrate the data to the G Suite servers using Exchange connection. However, in the case that the exchange server limits the connections from external servers, we offer a selection of other migration solutions such as CloudMigrator and IMAP Sync for email.
For organizations looking to migrate email only, we use secure IMAP solutions including data migration services and IMAP sync. This migration process ensures that not only the messages are being migrated, but also the folder structure.
G Suite Active Directory Integration
If your organization is currently within an Active Directory environment, the Google Cloud Directory Sync is a practical solution that ensures your domain matches your Active Directory or LDAP servers. This tool allows you to synchronize users groups, contacts, aliases, and calendar resources by creating rules for user mapping.
If you are looking to format basic email coexistence, we offer advanced rule configuration service on the G Suite server to configure either Split or Dual delivery. This allows administrators to test the G Suite server prior migrating all users to their new Cloud solution.
Migrating all users and their data to the G Suite service is ideal; however, keep in mind that the more users you have, the more data we need to migrate. Our certified G Suite Deployment Specialists are here to help you with the process. Contact us for more details!
